Thank you to all who attended the Stop the Bleed program. Everyone agreed it was extremely educational and informative. We appreciate UC Health’s Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care for offering this Community Event to help save lives.
The Arlington Memorial Gardens is hosting a Free Community Event, Stop the Bleed, on Saturday October 26th from 9 AM – 10:30 AM. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and a call to action. Stop the Bleed is intended to educate and encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. The program is put on by the UC Health’s Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care.
No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be first on the scene. A person who is bleeding can die from blood loss within five minutes, therefore it is important to quickly stop the blood loss. Those nearest to someone with life threatening injuries are best positioned to provide first care.
