Campus is the Site of Arlington’s Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center
After years of discussions, reviews and planning, the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home will be a reality in Fall 2019. However, as we progressed through the planning stages, it became apparent that what we were creating was something much more than merely a funeral home. Spread out over a 6 ½ acre site, we realized we were developing a new campus, an area that would initially be the setting for the funeral home and the cremation facility, but would also provide space for other, yet to be determined, future facilities. In keeping with the evolving shifts in final arrangement preferences, we have named the new site the “Celebration of Life Campus.”
Following the formal Ground Breaking Ceremony last October, the general contractor, the TriVersity Company from right here in Cincinnati, began the $4 Million project by clearing and developing the site, work that involved a significant amount of excavation in order to build roads, two new ponds, the expansion of an existing pond and a parking lot. Under normal conditions, that should have taken about two months. But, as you’ll recall, last fall and then the winter months were anything but normal, with above-average rainfall interfering and creating conditions that forced constant stops and start-ups. As a result, progress moved very slowly until finally, in April, the site work was completed. We now anticipate the actual start-up of the construction of the two facilities. Our fingers are crossed that the buildings go up as planned.
The Arlington Celebration of Life Campus will provide a venue unlike anything else in the area. The facilities are being developed to respond to the rise of cremation and the evolving attitudes of funeral rituals. End of life services focuses not only on death but life also. As a result, memorial services and “celebration of life” services have become almost as common as the more traditional funeral. Arlington’s funeral home is designed to accommodate both. In addition, new technology will enable those unable to personally attend to “attend virtually.”
While the Celebration of Life Campus is under construction Managing Funeral Director, Byron Adkins has been using Arlington’s existing facilities to serve the needs of Arlington families for the past year. Both pre-need and at-need arrangements can be made by contacting the funeral home at (513) 728-3460 or by visiting the website at www.amgardens.org.
