Carolyn Louise Banta
Mrs. Carolyn Banta, age 83, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Carolyn was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Charles and Lois Shannon. She married Guy Banta on January 31, 1959, and he preceded her in death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters; Valerie (Dave) Reis, Shannon (Tom) Bockenstette, and Gay (Curt) Wenzler, grandchildren, Amanda (Christopher) Adler, Michelle Tate, Beau (Ally) Bockenstette, Jill Bockenstette, Mitchell Wenzler and Madison Wenzler, great-grandchildren, August Adler, Theo and Jackson Bockenstette and many extended relatives and friends.
Carolyn was a member and Deacon at the Westwood Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at Hoxsworth Blood Center, the American Heart Association, and several other organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati. She was also the president and member of her Florida condo association for many years.
Carolyn worked as a registered nurse for the University of Cincinnati Hospital formally known as Cincinnati General Hospital, in both the Burn Unit and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. In her later years, Carolyn and Guy enjoyed decorating the grounds of their condominium complex for holidays bringing joy to their neighbors.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 8th, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, follow the light blue line to the funeral home.
Services for Mrs. Carolyn Banta will be private. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
