Mrs. Doris Holzheimer, age 76, passed away on December 23, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Doris was born in Cleveland, OH to Frank Holzheimer and Juanita Holzheimer Schloz. As a youth she was an accomplished horsewoman, a feat which she continued well into adulthood. Doris married the love of her life Gordon Hullar of Covington, Kentucky on May 5, 1984. Doris was the Senior Manager in International Marketing at Procter & Gamble. After retiring, Doris and Gordon started Vintner Select, a specialty wine importer. They traveled the globe in search of the best wines and sold them to the finest restaurants in the tri-state. Doris was widely known and appreciated for her exceptional palate, as well as her near-native mastery of the Italian language.
Doris was chair of the board for Women Helping Women, served on the board of the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation and was an avid supporter of the Arts in Cincinnati including the Symphony, Ballet, Cincinnati Pops, Opera and Playhouse in the Park. She was a master of the culinary arts and enjoyed expressing her love to people through hosting and entertaining.
Doris is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Gordon Hullar, children, Greg (Amber Bostic) Hullar and Paul (Gay) Hullar, grandchildren, Kaje Hennerty, Stephanie (Ryan) Climer and Ayla Hullar, sisters, Deborah (Mary Beth Flournoy) Riley and Martha (Gary) Connor, Bruce (Peggy Crawford) Scharschmidt and many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Holzheimer, Juanita Holzheimer Schloz.
Services for Doris will be private. A celebration of life will take place in the coming months.
