Joenetta Scott

Joenetta Scott was born on March 19,1961. She was the daughter of the late Joe Nathan and Jerelene Davis Scott. She was also preceded in death by seven brothers: Anthony E. Allen, Donald Scott, Henry Scott, Joe Nathan Scott, Jr., Nathaniel Scott, Otis Scott, and Ray Scott; three sisters: Mary Elizabeth Ballard, Annie Ruth Buggs and Jenny Johnson. On Friday, April 2, 2021 Joenetta transitioned home to be with God.

Joenetta graduated from Hughes High School in 1979. She joined Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1982 where she was employed until the time of her transitioning. She loved mentoring to our youth and joined the coaching staff at the West End YMCA Double Dutch Team.

Joenetta was a phenomenal woman, a loyal and committed family member. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She accomplished so much, however, her greatest gifts to the world are her children, Angela L. Carloss and Kareem A. Smith, whom she dearly loved.

Joenetta leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughter, Angela L. Carloss (Anthony Collins), son, Kareem A. Smith (Tiffany); six grandchildren: Amiya King, Ava Davis, Kameron Smith, Kayson Smith, Anthony Collins, Jr. and Ariya Collins. Sister, Zakiyyah Allen; brothers: James Scott, Ronnie D. Allen, Sr. and Timothy Ray Allen; sister/cousin, Cynthia Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday April 9, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with Service immediately following at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (upon entering the cemetery follow the blue line).  Burial will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens. (Facial coverings are required).
