John E. DeBra
Mr. John E. DeBra, age 72, passed away on December 19, 2020.
John was born in Cincinnati, OH to John D. DeBra and Doris DeBra. John married Phyllis St. John of Loveland, Ohio on December 22, 1979 in Cincinnati, OH.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years Phyllis DeBra, children; Shannon DeBra , John (Veronica) DeBra , and Brian (Kari) DeBra, sister Nancy Baldridge, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John D. and Doris DeBra (neeTandrup).
John is a veteran having served in the Navy from 1970 to 1972 on the USS Oakridge (ARDM-1), where he serviced nuclear submarines. He was in the Naval Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 1975. He is a 32nd degree Master Mason with the Madeira-Mariemont Lodge #419. John started his career at Fred B DeBra Co. in 1969 as an estimator until he joined the Navy in 1970. He returned in 1972 and continued as an estimator until he joined the Pipefitters Union in 1976 and retired in August of 2003. He was considered the expert boiler/burner mechanic. He trained a lot of apprentices and became good friends with many of them who still called for advice even after his retirement. His hobbies were working on and rebuilding vintage cars from the 60s along with working and playing with CB and Ham radios – old and new.
Public Viewing will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. (upon entrance into the cemetery, follow the blue line) Services will be held on Saturday, December 26th at 1:00 PM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with John Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Springfield Township, Ohio.
