Milton “Mike” Clarkson Murphy
Mr. Milton “Mike” Clarkson Murphy, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021, surrounded by family.
Mike was born in Cincinnati, OH to Edgar and Mary Murphy. He graduated from Hughes High School in 1945. Mike served his country on the USS Rochester (CA-124) as a Navy Hospital Corpsman during WWII. Upon his return, he attended Forestry School at Utah State University and later the University of Cincinnati. Mike married Patricia Fitzgerald, whom he grew up with, in Winton Place, on October 8, 1955. His career in the automobile industry in sales and management spanned over 40 years.
Mike loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and UC football, basketball and track. He was an original Bengals season ticket holder for 54 years and was a lifelong Reds fan. He had passions for spending time with family and friends, Sanibel Island, the outdoors, traveling and gardening. Mike and Pat were members of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and he was a member of the American Legion post 199.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Murphy, children; Timothy Murphy and Kelly (Jim) Greene, grandchildren; Ryan Greene, Bradley Greene, Casey Greene, Megan Greene and many extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Robert Murphy and Larry Murphy.
Visitation will be held Monday, 21st of June, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the cemetery grounds follow the blue line to the funeral home.
Services for Mike will be held on Tuesday, 22nd of June, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the cemetery grounds follow the red line to the chapel. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
