Norma Elizabeth (nee Wallingford) Plummer, age 97, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2021. Norma was born in Peebles, Ohio on September 24, 1924 to Alan D. and Miriam Wallingford. She grew up in the beautiful hills of Adams County with her five brothers, Eugene, Hartzell, Don, John, and Richard. She graduated from Peebles High School in 1942 and enlisted in the Women’s Army Air Force during WWII where she proudly worked as a nursing corpsman caring for U.S. troops returning from POW camps. She married William M. Plummer in 1946. They enjoyed 54 years together until his death in 2000. She is survived by her four children, Steve (Cecelia) Plummer of Hamilton, Ohio, Bill (Lisa) Plummer of Cincinnati, Miriam (Mike) Rucker of Phoenix, AZ, and Sandy (Chuck) Cody of Las Cruces, NM, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Norma had a long and successful career as a real estate agent with West Shell. Working in real estate, she developed an uncanny ability to drive almost anywhere in Hamilton County without a map, pre-GPS. She was an excellent cook and loved nothing more than to have family around her table enjoying the meals she lovingly prepared. She touched many lives in her long life with love, kindness, and generosity. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the caregivers at Cottingham Retirement Community who helped to make her last few years happy and comfortable.
