Wilcox, Robert E. Sr. Beloved husband of the late Betty Mae (nee Kent) Wilcox. Dear father of Judy (the late Ronald) Knapke, Jerry (Charles) Ottaway, Bruce (Joanie Kay) Wilcox, Vicki (Donald) Huff, Robert (Tammy) Wilcox Jr. and the late Joan (the late Frank) Litschgi. Loving grandfather of 24 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three grandsons and all eight of his brothers and sisters. Passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021. Age 96 years. Mr. Wilcox served in the US Army during WWII. He was retired after 50 years of service to Loroco Industries, Inc. where he made steel-edge cutting dies, a job which required extreme skill and precision. in the late 1960’s, while he was adjusting a punch press, the clutch accidentally engaged and the press came down, severing his right arm just below the elbow. With Robert’s determination and use of a prosthetic arm, he continued to work for another 20 years at the same job.
Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Church, 3350 Chapel Road, Shandon (45063) on Friday January 15 from 11 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM. Masks and social distancing will be required at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s favorite charity.
