Shizu Micky Dietz March 3, 1930 - February 7, 2021

Ms. Shizu “Micky” Dietz, age 90, passed away peacefully, on February 7, 2021, surrounded by her children.

Micky was born in Tokyo, Japan to Sekizo Usui and Tsuruko (nee Koizumi) Usui.  Micky married Eugene Dietz and he preceded her in death, in 1985.  She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Micky was passionate about her family.  Her strong faith carried her through tough times.  She dedicated her life to helping others.  She also loved gardening.  She could grow sprouts from a rock and roses were her favorite flower.  Cooking for her family and friends was where she was able to share her Japanese heritage and culture with others.

She was also a member of the American Legion Axillary for over 50 years.

Micky is survived by her children; Candace (Jon) Hochstrasser, Geno (Teresa) Dietz and Vickie (Tom) Mahoney, grandchildren; Matthew Hochstrasser, Chelsea (Bobby) Seiter, Brian (Lauren) Hochstrasser, Ryan Dietz, Caitlin Mahoney and Kylie Mahoney, Logan Hochstrasser, Kessler Hochstrasser, Chase Seiter, Kellen Hochstrasser, Harper Seiter, Elliott Hochstrasser and Sophia Hochstrasser, and many extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 11th of February, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM when the services will begin, at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231.  Once on cemetery grounds follow the blue line to the funeral home.  Masks required.  Micky will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens at a later date.  Memorial donations can be directed to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana at https://www.crh.org/service-centers/hospice/donate.  Online condolences can be left at www.AMGFuneralHome.com.

    Candy and Geno, so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mother. She was a caring and wonderful person. I miss seeing her at functions along with my aunts in New Alsace. Take care and comfort knowing she is in heaven in the hands of God.
