Victoria “Vicki” Lynne Schaiper, nee Salzman, 64, died Friday, August 13, 2021, in her home from complications related to her metastatic breast cancer. In hospice care for one week prior to her death, Vicki passed away in her sleep.
She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, Robert “Bob” Schaiper; Her children- son Christopher Schaiper, daughter Angela Schaiper and Son Brandon Schaiper. Grandchildren Allison, Bradley, Christopher Jr., Brody, Adalynn, and Charli. Father E. Thomas Salzman, Brothers E. Thomas Salzman Jr. and wife Cheryl and Russell Salzman and wife Paula. She also leaves behind her Uncle Jack Salzman and nieces and nephews Russell Salzman Jr., Emily Salzman, Matthew Salzman, Grace Salzman and Chelsea Salzman as well as her great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Norma Joy Salzman.
Vicki retired from General Electric after 39 years, but her work was far from finished. She dedicated her life to the children, be it her own children and grandchildren or those from her community. From working part time at The Skatin’ Place to volunteering for Houston Elementary, President of CCAA Sports Complex, President of Northwest Area Say Soccer, Butler County MRDD, Adopt-a-family programs, the Boy Scouts of America as well as various other passion projects; Vicki adopted countless youth in the community and became their advocates, friend, coach, supporter and second mother.
Known for her positive outlook on life and heart of gold, Vicki was a generous, kindhearted woman with a great sense of humor. She’s touched the lives of countless individuals in the community via dedication to the children and various charitable organizations as well as the bowling and softball communities where she was known as “Mama Schaip”. With a smile that would light up a room, Vicki will be greatly missed but her contributions and community service leave a legacy that will not soon be forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 21st from 9 AM until time of the Funeral Service at 11 AM at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231. Private interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made in Vicki’s name to Faith Lutheran Church, 8265 Winton Road, Finneytown, OH 45231.
