Vi Daniels is a new member of the Arlington Family Care Team, but Arlington is definitely not new to her. She has spent many hours in Arlington’s beautiful gardens since she was a child, visiting the memorials of her own family. Vi and her husband, Michael, have a total of 37 family members either interred at Arlington or with plans for interment at Arlington, including their own pre-arrangements from over 15 years ago.
While the span of Vi’s professional career has been in the print and marketing industry, she admits to a deep strain of compassion and an intense emotional interest in helping others during difficult times, as witnessed by her three years of service to a Cincinnati inner-city mission. Those interests, combined with her own family’s history with The Arlington Memorial Gardens inspired her to make what she calls “a very radical change in my career path” when she decided to join the Arlington team.
Vi has been a lifelong resident of Cincinnati although she has traveled extensively and has spent time in missions in Thailand and the Dominican Republic. Her strong sense of compassion also extends to nature: she is an animal lover and has volunteered for well over two decades for a local wildlife group, rescuing orphaned and injured native species of Ohio.
Unflappability, even in the face of adversity, is often a blessing that Vi believes should be shared. She believes deeply in Maya Angelou’s philosophy that, “People will forget what you said. They will forget what you did. But they will never forget how you made them feel.” At this point in her life she feels she is exactly where she is supposed to be and is looks forward to serving Arlington families for many years to come.
