Steven Lee Steigelman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Lee Steigelman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world on September 15, 2025, at the age of 84. Steven was born on August 15, 1941, in New Vienna, Ohio, and grew up in Mt. Healthy, surrounded by the values instilled in him by his Methodist upbringing.

Steven’s journey through life was defined by his unwavering love for his family and his deep commitment to his faith. He was married to the love of his life, Karen, for an incredible 59 years. Together, they created a warm and loving home where Christmas was a cherished highlight each year, hosting family gatherings filled with laughter and love. Of course, Steven’s favorite dishes most Sundays with his parents and brother Greg—his mother’s delicious pot roast, mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake.

A dedicated member of the Monfort Heights United Methodist Church, Steven served as Treasurer for a remarkable 44 years, a testament to his commitment and devotion to his community and God. He and Karen found joy in their shared experiences, particularly in the couple’s group called Duets, and both cherished their time spent in service to others.

Steven was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, honing his skills as an expert rifleman and sharpshooter. His service shaped his character, instilling a strong work ethic that followed him through his extensive career in finance as an accountant.

He adored spending time with his daughters, Amy, Lori, and Kristina, crafting cherished memories as they built go-carts, treehouses, and tended to their garden. Steven was as passionate about his Cincinnati Bengals and Reds as he was about family games of Euchre and his weekly Poker games, always ready for a challenge and a laugh.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his daughters, Amy (Bobby) Luther, Lori (Ron) Moeller, and Kristina Vickers; his brother, Greg Steigelman; his grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon (Meghan), Brooke (Greg), Alexis, Ronnie, Kari Anne, and Greyson; and his adoring great grandchildren, Joey and Adeline who meant the world to him. His legacy of love, support, and kindness will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Betty Steigelman (nee Dickman).

In reflection of a life well-lived, we invite family and friends to gather for a celebration of Steven’s life. Services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, where we will honor the remarkable man he was.

In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Steven’s life can be made to Monfort Heights United Methodist Church, 3682 West Fork Road, 45247 DONATE – mhumc.org.

May we find solace in our shared memories and the love he generously gave, carrying his spirit forward in the lives he touched. Rest in peace, dear Steven; your light will continue to shine in our hearts.

“Dad, I find comfort in knowing the strength of your faith. The time I have had with you will forever be cherished. You will forever be in my heart. Rest easy dad, we will take it from here. 1.The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2.He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3.he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4.Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6.Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

“Oh, Amy, Gary and I are so saddened to learn of your father’s passing. We know you were so very close to him. We are hoping beautiful memories will make your heart smile again. Sending love and hugs, Donna Aufranc”
