When a death occurs – or is thought imminent – emotions often override clear thought. And, when a death occurs, certain things need to be done; this process depends on where the death happened. We encourage you to contact us immediately for help and professional advice you need through this difficult time. If a death happens at home, and the deceased is under hospice care, the hospice care nurse will contact Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home when the loved one is ready to be transferred to our funeral home. Sometimes, the family may elect to contact us at (513) 521-7003.
When death is at home, but not under hospice care, whether it is accidental or unexpected, you must call 911. The emergency services representative will notify Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at (513) 521-7003 before the loved one is transferred to our funeral home.
In situations where your loved one was in supervised care, such as a nursing home or hospital at the time of death, their staff will immediately notify you and the authorities. If you’ve let the facility know you will be working with Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, they will notify us and our Funeral Director will contact you immediately to help you proceed.
For cases where a loved one was in hospice program’s care, your first call should be to them where a representative will provide you with the instructions and procedures for moving forward. A coroner or medical examiner may also be notified by the hospice program. After release from the hospice’s care, they will contact us if you have listed Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home as your funeral home of choice.
