Obituary for Joan Rose Lorenz
Joan Rose Lorenz, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the Cincinnati community, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on June 26, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Joan lived her life rooted in the values of family, love, and dedication.
A proud homemaker and devoted mother, Joan found joy in creating a nurturing environment for her children. Throughout her life, Joan demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family, often delighting in the simple pleasure of spending time with her children and later, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The laughter and warmth she shared during countless hours of bingo, cards, and board games will forever echo in the hearts of those she loved.
Joan’s passion for her home extended beyond the walls, as she took great pride in caring for her yard and garden. Her nurturing spirit extended to every corner of her life, making her a beloved figure in her family and community.
Joan is survived by her loving children, Denny (Shelley) Lorenz, Barb Gresham, and Kathy Lorenz, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Alison Lorenz, and son-in-law Don Wingerberg, all of whom will carry her memory with them as they navigate life’s journey.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Lorenz Jr., parents, George and Cecilia Ritter, son, Don Lorenz, daughters Linda Lorenz and Betty Lorenz, and grandson, Kevin Defevers.
There will be a private burial for Joan at the Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Joan Rose Lorenz will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and unwavering love.
