Julia was born to Nora (nee Watson) and Walter Hart on June 27, 1940 in Corbin, Kentucky. She’s the beloved mother of Meg Waddell, Amy Focke, and Rob DeWitt; cherished grandmother of Jenney, Corey (Kristi), Julie (Kent), Holly (Chase), Jake, Tessa, Gabe and great grandmother of Kaiden, Hudson, Alex, Noble, Ethan, Jaxxon, Kane and Nora; dear sister of Walter (Diane) Hart; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 66 years, Robert M. DeWitt, and her granddaughter Tessa.

Julia and Robert were avid travelers who enjoyed visiting all 50 states and several countries. Julie also was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, volunteered for the Colerain Senior Citizen Facility, she loved to play cards with her family and also enjoyed Line Dancing. She was also a world class reader, consuming up to 5 books a week. She always had sweet snacks on hand to welcome visitors. She also enjoyed spending time with her family. The visitation will be held at Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Mt. Healthy) on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 9 am until time of funeral service at 11 am. Donations in Julia’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
