Eugene Harry Harman

Eugene Harry Harman, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on July 13, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Eugene was a man of many passions, from his dedication to carpentry to his love of family cookouts and cherished memories created around the grill. He will forever be remembered for the savory smells of Hawaiian ham, ribs, and steaks that filled the air during family gatherings, bringing loved ones together.

Eugene’s journey through life was marked by resilience and determination. Despite losing his hearing at an early age, he regained some hearing in his left ear and embraced life with an infectious spirit. He began his career as a carpenter alongside his father at the tender age of 14, eventually retiring from Blueford Jackson and Son Hardwood Floors at 62. His craftsmanship bestowed beauty upon many local homes, including those of notable personalities like Johnny Bench and Carl Lindner.

Eugene was a passionate fan of NASCAR and loved to indulge in history, particularly watching Civil War reenactments. His enjoyment of jazz music added rhythm to his life, while his fascination with western movies and action films reflected his adventurous spirit. He had often dreamt of serving in the military, but his hearing challenges led him down a different path. However, he remained a true American at heart, embodying the values of hard work and dedication.

Raised in a Catholic family, Eugene held his faith dear, attending church services often early in life. His warmth, humor, and love for family made him a cherished figure, always ready with a story or a smile.

Eugene is survived by his son, Steven Harman; daughter, Michelle (Scott) Heheman; grandchildren, Jessica Heheman, Jamie (Jim) Klosterman, Chad (Heather) Kotil, and Keith Harman; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Miranda, and Ben Klosterman. His legacy of love and joy will continue to thrive through them.
