Carol Louise Skinner

With heavy hearts and a spirit full of love, we celebrate the life of Carol Louise Hauser Skinner, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Carol passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire her family and friends.

Born on May 28, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Carol dedicated her life to making the world a better place, especially during her years as a devoted secretary at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Her passion for cooking would fill her home with laughter and delicious meals, creating cherished memories for her loved ones. She was a nurturing presence, not only in her family but in the community, always ready with a warm smile and comforting words.

Carol’s bond with her sister, Linda, grew stronger over the years, and together they made countless memories. A true Cincinnati Bengals fan, she never missed a moment to cheer for her team, bringing an infectious joy to her family. She also found delight in her favorite soap operas, a little guilty pleasure that brought her happiness through the years.

In her journey of life, Carol embraced her faith and the compassion it instilled in her, always showing care and sweetness with a delightful hint of spiciness that made her truly one-of-a-kind.

Carol leaves behind her loving husband, Stephan Skinner, her son Nicholas (Carey) Hauser, her daughter Melissa (Greg) Skinner, and her beloved grandchildren: Grace, Gabrielle, Jeffrey, and Rose Marie. She is also survived by her sister Linda (Dennis Meyer) Van Oflen and her stepchildren, Niki (Shawn) Jelil, Jeff (Jenni) Skinner, Stephanie Adelsperger, along with her step-grandchildren: Adam, Amina, Taylor, Tierney, Taryn, James, Christian, Annabelle, and Adela. Her nephew David Young and niece Catherine Young, along with nephew Andrew Murphy-Young, will also carry forward her legacy of love.

A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located at 2155 Compton Road, 45231. The family will welcome visitors starting at 12:30 PM, followed by a joyful funeral service at 1:45 PM. Carol will then be laid to rest in the Garden of Trees, where her spirit will continue to nourish the lives of those she loved.

In this time of remembrance, let us all cherish the beautiful moments we shared with Carol. While we feel the weight of our loss, her loving spirit will remain woven into the fabric of our lives, echoing in our kitchens and shining through the love she instilled in each of us.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine Van Oflen, and her first husband, John Hauser.
