A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Patricia Ann Hasting, affectionately known as Patti, passed away on October 15, 2026, just days shy of her 67th birthday. Born on October 25, 1959, in Cincinnati, OH, Patti was a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt who touched the lives of many throughout her vibrant journey.
Growing up in a world where female carpenters were a rarity, Patti broke barriers, becoming one of the first three women accepted into the Cincinnati Homebuilders program. This paved the way for her career as a union carpenter, where she worked on several notable projects, including the Cincinnati library, and dedicated herself to preserving the beauty of historic homes as a finish carpenter and cabinet maker. Her hands not only built structures but also created beauty, as she studied horticulture and embraced her creativity as a floral designer for local florists.
Patti was a free spirit who loved to embrace life to the fullest. Her passions included swimming, parasailing, motorcycle rides, and camping, where she found joy in nature. She adored her dog, Gizmo, who was her loyal companion.
Patti is survived by her loving sister, Jennifer Leahy, her bonus sister, Tammy (Bill) Chapman, and her cherished nieces and nephews: Kristi (Andy) Coen, Scott (Kim Duncan) Brickler, Jeff (Amanda) Brickler, David (Sandra) Hasting, Jessie (Josh) English, and Melissa Leahy (Kevin Say). She also leaves behind six great-nieces and nephews and her dear cousin, Nancy (Bob) Debbeler, who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her devoted parents, Bud Hasting and Evelyn (Spade) Behrens, and her cherished brother, Roger Hasting.
Join us as we celebrate Patti’s remarkable life. Family and friends are invited for visitation, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 12:30 PM. All are welcome to join us at the reception in Arlington Community Center at the conclusion of service.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage those who wish to honor Patti’s memory to contribute to Alzheimer’s/Dementia research or to plant a tree in her name. She believed in nurturing life and creating beauty around her, and this is a lovely way to carry that spirit forward.
Patti will be remembered not only for her talent and fierce independence but for her warmth, laughter, and the love she shared with those fortunate enough to know her. In celebration of her legacy, let us cherish our memories and the joy she brought into our lives.

“I was already planning to plant at least 1 tree in my yard next Spring. I will very happily add a plaque to honor my coolest aunt. 🖤”
