Henry M. Haenning

March 20, 1944 – October 18, 2026

Henry M. Haenning

Henry M. Haenning, a true original with a heart of gold, passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on March 20, 1944, in Cincinnati, OH, Henry lived a life filled with love, laughter, and boundless joy. He called Mt. Healthy, OH home, where he created countless cherished memories surrounded by family and friends.

Henry was a gentle soul known for his infectious sense of humor and his playful spirit. A huge jokester throughout his life, he had a knack for making everyone smile, and he never had a mean bone in his body. He grew up on a farm, riding around on his horse in the very fields where Ronald Reagan now stands, and he carried that adventurous spirit with him throughout his life.

Having traveled to enchanting places like Venice and the Vatican, and even made a quick trip to Canada, he loved to share stories of his adventures, often while flying around in a four-seater plane with his buddies. He was passionate about his cars—particularly his convertibles—and often regaled family and friends with tales of his beloved vehicles.

Family was always the center of Henry’s universe. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Brandee, sons, Brian (Alesia), Matt (Vickie) and his sister-in-law, Rose with whom he shared countless moments—from watching them play baseball and wrestling to spending warm afternoons in the backyard pool. His daughter Brandee, who he affectionately called his “princess,” was especially dear to him; he always cherished the time they spent together. Henry loved his grandchildren, Theodore, Madison, Hailey, Mackenzie, Faith, Ryder, Brian Jr., Brandon, Bella and Bryce. They fondly knew him as “HawHaw,” and the joy they brought to his life was immeasurable. He often listened with delight as they prepared for daycare and enjoyed cooking for them—his punch bowl cake and homemade chicken soup were family favorites.

Henry shared a sweet connection with his sister-in-law, Rose, enjoying her famous carrot cake. He worked tirelessly at St. Margaret Mary Church for over 30 years and spent another decade at Meijer, always providing for his family in every way he could. He loved to sit back, listen to the oldies—Dolly Parton, Elvis, Cher, Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Janice Joplin, Little Richard—and catch up on Fox News.

Henry’s faithful companion, his 120-pound dog Caeser, stood by him through thick and thin, sharing in his love for life and all its simple pleasures.

In celebration of Henry’s remarkable life, family and friends are invited to join us for a series of services. A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026, at 9:30 AM with funeral service at 10:30 AM at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Henry will then be laid to rest in the Garden of Trees.

Let us come together to celebrate the life of a truly wonderful man who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met. Henry leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire us all.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Haenning, his brother James (Jim) Haenning, and his sister Joyce Haenning.
