Rosalie M. Ireland went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 30, 2023 at the age of 91.  She was born in Huntington, WV, the daughter of Robert and Elsie Monk on January 23, 1932.  Rosalie later moved to Cincinnati, where she married her husband Joseph M. Ireland.  Rosalie is survived by her loving daughter Catherine (John) Roberto, step grandchildren: Jon (Lori) Roberto and Tricia (Arnie) Hunter.  After Joseph’s passing, Rosalie remarried to Kenneth Eick.  She is the dear sister of the late Robert Monk and sister-in-law of , Pat (Setsuko) Eick, Mel (Linda) Eick, Richard (Mary) Spilker, the late Jack (Georgi) Eick, Ray (the late Ginny) Eick, Carole Rensing and Don Eick.

Rosalie was a vibrant and generous member of the Greater Cincinnati community where she was active in organizations including: the Cincinnati Woman’s Club, Chairwoman of the CET Action Auction, the Westwood Woman’s Club, The West Hills Music Club, PTA President and Girl Scout Leader, Long time Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher at Westwood-Cheviot Church of Christ, frequently gave book reviews at local organizations, Board Member at the Mason Christian Village, and passionate about entertaining and interior design.  Rosalie’s daughter Cathy fondly recalls her mother’s wisdom and helpful advice when she would remind her that “You are who your friends are.” “Let go and let God.” “Forgive and forget.”  “You have nothing in it.” “Everything will be alright.” “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”

Friends are invited to celebrate the love of Rosalie on Thursday May 11th, at the Cincinnati Woman’s Club 330 Lafayette Avenue Cincinnati, OH 45220, where a memorial gathering will take place from 10:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:30 a.m.  A reception will follow.
