William James Brandt

May 2, 1951 – December 14, 2023

William James Brandt, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on December 14, 2023, at the age of 72 in his hometown of Cincinnati, OH. Born on May 2, 1951, Bill was a beloved husband, devoted father, loving brother, cherished grandfather, and a dear friend to many.

Bill was a man of diverse interests and talents. With a green thumb and a love for horticulture and his yard, he spent countless hours tending to his beautiful flower beds, which was a source of pride and joy for him. He had a keen eye for “collectibles” and was an avid yard sale shopper, always on the lookout for a great deal. Bill had a deep appreciation for music, with classic rock holding a special place in his heart. Bill could also be found at his bi-weekly Yoga class at Mercy HealthPlex.

Bill was a retired quality control analyst in the flavoring industry. His commitment to his work was evident in his attention to detail and desire for excellence.

Bill’s warm and loving nature extended to his family and friends. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Jennifer Brandt, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love. Their bond was built on years of shared experiences and unwavering support for one another. Bill was a nurturing father to his sons, Doug (Lisa) Brandt and Greg (Emily) Brandt, and took great pride in watching them grow into wonderful individuals. He was also passionate about spending time with his grandchildren, Brianna Stucker, Sophia Brandt and Marissa Brandt. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Jan) Brandt and Randy (Joanne) Brandt.

The void left by Bill’s passing will be deeply felt by all who knew him. His sly grin, kind heart, and reserved nature will be missed but never forgotten. He leaves behind cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of his family and friends.

The funeral services to honor Bill’s life will be held in on Friday, December 29, 2023, with visitation from 10:00 AM until the services begin at 12:00 Noon, at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. “We met Bill and Jenny on casino trip and had lunch together with Jenny’s brother Mark I liked Bill cause his work was some what I had done and he knew people that I had worked with. We will miss him and pray for him and his family.”

“When I first met Bill I was in high school. I remember how happy He made my sister when they started dating. I was a couple years younger but I tagged along w them on several occasions. He always had a kind word and a wry smile to go with it for me. Bridgett and Bill always connected as they are two of a kind when it comes to brains and researching. Smarty pants! When we moved to St Leon Bill would get out the map of apple trees in the side yard and study. He taught me a lot about fruit trees and how to care for them. When we started gardening he and Bridgett researched how to plant and care for each veggie. We will sorely miss the wry wit he shared. I figure He’s playing some Solo or Euchre w Dad & the gang and smiling that wry smile down on us. He will live forever in our hearts.”

“You are very missed my friend. I will always cherish the trips we had with the whole gang . I always remember that grin you had that showed you were having great time . You will leave a void in our lives . God bless Mitch”

“Uncle Bill was a great man and Uncle. So glad my wife Pam and I saw Aunt Jenny and Uncle Bill last summer in Florida once they got back from cruise. We enjoyed a nice dinner and just hung out. Myself and Uncle Bill would always talk sports and about traveling and where we were going next on one of our adventures. He was always very nice and never said anything bad about anyone. He also had the feeling of keeping everything he ever bought it seems in his lifetime. That man was a pack rat!!!! He would always tell everyone at family gathering his latest steal at a yard sale and loved to play games. Pam and I will miss you Uncle Bill. Rest in peace till we meet again. Love always, Your nephew Andy”

“Uncle Bill was an amazing person and wonderful uncle. His kind humility masked the fact that he was probably one of the smartest people you’d know with a genuine curiosity. As an early 20 something I was lucky to bowl in a league with him, and when someone was “put on” and had to buy a round of beers, he would just ask for some type of juice – grapefruit, tomato, orange on occasion . Every time it seemed like a different one and I left to head to the bar wondering, do they even have that? While I saw Uncle Bill less frequently as I got older my respect and admiration for him continued to grow. I don’t think I ever heard him complain or say a bad thing about anyone. He was kind, humble, and always happy for others. He will be missed by everyone lucky enough to know him.”

“Bill was not only my brother in law, but a dear friend. We shared many laughs and good times together. My wife, Linda and I, enjoyed many overnight trips to the casino where we would end up playing cards with Bill and Jenny in our room once the slot machines took all our money. We always played Hand and Foot. Bill was good at holding all his cards till the last minute, and loved to “sandbag” and pick up the stack as often as he could. Once he picked up my “foot” and played it by mistake and I never let him forget it! We enjoyed traveling together with Bill and Jenny also. Our last trip was in November to Sugarcreek , Ohio …….Amish country. He may be gone, but I’ll never forget him. He was a wonderful man and friend.”
