It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gail M. Westendorf, loving and adored wife, mom, and grandma, passed on January 28, 2024, at the age of 78.
Gail Hoffman was born on April 21, 1945, in Cincinnati, the only child of Charles and Alberta (nee Schutte) Hoffman. She married Dennis J. Westendorf on October 4, 1969, and Gail got her dream of having a big family when she had 4 children: Scott, Sheri, Teri and Cindy. Gail worked for Walgreens for over 30 years, and she loved her job and all the customers she met along the way. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed reading, puzzles and of course watching General Hospital. Gail was known for being early to everything living by the moto “If you’re on time you’re late, if you’re early you’re on time.” She instilled that in her children along with her work ethic.
She leaves behind a legacy of love starting with her devoted husband of 54 years Dennis Westendorf; loving children: Scott Westendorf, Sheri (Ron) Holt, Teri (Bill) Rehn, and Cindy (Scott) Lea; cherished grandchildren: Ashley Westendorf, Billy Rehn, Jasmine Westendorf, Nicole Rehn, Haley Daugherty, Chyanne Westendorf, Benjamin Daugherty, Kameron Westendorf and Adrianna Holt; great granddaughter: Ivy Rehn; and sister-in-law: Joeann Kern. She also leaves behind a niece and 3 nephews.
The visitation will be at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine Street, Harrison, OH 45030 on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11 am until the time of the Blessing Service at 1 PM with Fr. Paul Ruwe officiating. Burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or American Heart Association.
