Thomas Parks

Hey there, friends and family! We will gather to celebrate the incredible life of Thomas Parks, who lived every day to the fullest with contagious enthusiasm. Thomas, who was born on December 4, 1933, in Erlanger, KY, he filled our hearts with joy and laughter until his peaceful passing on June 15, 2024, in Cincinnati.

Thomas, who was a proud African American and U.S. Army veteran, had a zest for life like no other. He famously coined the saying, “I’m the youngest old man you will ever meet,” always showing a youthful spirit. His love for dancing, James Brown, and fishing captured his essence, with a notable collection of fishing rods adorning his space. Thomas was a master angler, finding solace in catching bass and bluegill, a passion he cherished.

It was not just about fishing, though; Thomas knew how to have a good time. His love for shooting pool, often declaring “shoot stick” in jest, brought endless entertainment to those around him. Thomas deeply loved his late wife Etta, the light of his life and his best friend. In his later years, Erica and Gregg, loving caregivers, provided unparalleled care, making his days brighter.

His joy knew no bounds when spending time at LHOI Adult Day Care Center, engaging in activities and forming cherished friendships. A fan of cowboy movies and parties, Thomas made every moment count. He had a lucky number, 190, believing it to be the winning lottery pick – a testament to his optimistic outlook on life.

After a period with the Beasley family, Thomas returned to his beloved home on Neptune, echoing his sentiment, “I just want to go home.”  We celebrate his homecoming to eternity, surrounded by his loving close friends and all who held a special place in his heart.

He leaves to cherish his siblings, Julia Conner and Robert (Bobby) Parks, many nieces, nephews and friends that adored him. Amongst those friends were three that he noted as special friends, Randy Stitt, Oscar Byrd and Dorothy Thomas.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents James and Elizabeth Parks, his beloved wife Etta Parks and his brother James Parks. Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Thomas Parks at his Celebration of Life on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). Friends and Family will gather from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM to come together in remembrance and celebration of his extraordinary life.

Thomas Parks, you will forever remain in our hearts as a shining example of living life to the fullest. Your infectious laughter and zest for life have left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing you. Rest in peace, dear friend, knowing that your legacy continues to inspire us every day. May your journey to eternity be as bright as the joy you brought to our lives.
