Francis J. Sampson Jr. was a man full of life and laughter, whose adventurous spirit and love for family, extended family and friends left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Born in Cincinnati, OH, on January 21, 1934, passed away on July 6, 2024. He served his country in the US Air Force and later was employed as an Administrator Supervisor at General Motors for 30 years.
He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. Frank loved to travel out west and loved the cities of Cincinnati and Memphis. His love for music entailed opera, classical and country with his favorite artist, Andrea Bocelli. He had an appreciation for noisy clocks, especially cuckoo clocks, and indulged in delicious treats like moon pies, ice cream and donuts. Frank loved Christmas, and it was important to him that everyone had a present to open, making it magical for him.
Frank leaves a legacy of love and laughter for his daughters, Gina (Steve) Salling, Toni (Gary) Walters, Sandra Hafner, Cynthia (Rick) Scott, step-daughter, Peggy Roode, his life partner, Mary Lou Abner, her children, Tim (Connie) Abner and Rene’ (Dan) Klein, his sister, Donna Schwartz, along with 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Hattie Sampson (nee Hymer), and his siblings.
In celebration of Frank J. Sampson Jr.’s life, a Visitation will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering memorial park) on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 4:00 pm, followed by a Service at 6:00 pm. The Graveside Service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 11:30 am at Arlington Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Sermon on The Mount.
Let us gather to honor and remember Frank J. Sampson Jr., a man who brought light and laughter to all those around him. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
