Sandra Jean Grundhoefer, born in Cincinnati, OH, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Florence and Eugene Eiler and step-daughter of Betty Eiler.
A dedicated Nurse who graduated in 1969, from the Jewish Hospital school of nursing and spent her career caring for others at Jewish Hospital before retiring from Christ Hospital. She was a proud mother to Kim (Chris) Miller, Tina (Steve) Sedgwick, Gretchen (Jeff Oaks) Grundhoefer, Brett (Kelly) Grundhoefer, Erin (Brandon) Majors, beloved grandchildren, Colin Miller, Kelsey Miller, Allison (Jake Huff) Sedgwick, Paige (Taylor) Collins, Mallory Sedgwick, Madison White, Knox Grundhoefer, Kaiden and Brady Majors, and shared a special bond with her siblings Wayne (the late Judy) Eiler, Lynn (Camille) Eiler, and Scot (Larry Hall) Eiler, as well as her step-siblings John (Roberta) Ley, Shirley (Mike) Biere, Susan Ley, and the late James Ley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Known for her love of family, Sandra often shared her joy for life through her hobbies of gardening, baking, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and created lasting memories through travels with the Kothari family. Her Lemon Pound Cake was a family favorite, and her children affectionately called her the “mini” Hallmark due to her extensive collection of cards, meticulously organized by occasion.
In honor of Sandra’s vibrant life and loving spirit, a Celebration of Life service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens at 1:30 on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, for close family and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231. Once on the grounds of the memorial park, turn LEFT and follow the BLUE line to the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and love as they remember a woman who brought joy to all she knew. Sandra’s legacy of kindness and warmth will be forever cherished.
