Thomas was a man of many passions and hobbies, from his days playing football in high school to his later love for golf and fishing with his family. He enjoyed watching college sports and spending afternoons at Tag’s Cafe on Springdale Road. Thomas enjoyed sharing stories with his grandchildren, playing Euchre with friends, and listening to Oldies as well as watching classic television shows like Gunsmoke and Carol Burnett.

Leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter, Thomas is survived by his son Brian (Angela) Burkhart, his adored grandchildren James Thompson and Samantha Burkhart, as well as his brother George (Cindy) Burkhart and sisters Janice (Karl) Badgett and Sally Burkhart.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Marcella Burkhart (nee Hecht), his loving wife, Joyce Burkhart, and his son Robert Burkhart.

“Tom was a good friend and always showed up for our euchre group (early). He and Joyce are now together in heaven with there beloved son Robby. We know we will all reunite on those heavenly shores. May the Lord give strength to his loved ones, we know he will be missed but we also know that his spirit lives on. In Gods love, Ron and Bonnie Long”
