Imogene Grau

Imogene Grau, passed away peacefully at her home in Hamersville, Ohio, on February 3, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on August 25, 1936, in New Castle, Indiana, Imogene lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep affection for her family and friends.

Imogene was a dedicated mother to her four children, Virginia (Carl B.) Diesel, Tom (Michelle) Gentry, Nancy Wessell, and Sonja Brady. She enjoyed being a grandmother to Angela Ciaccio, Steven Ciaccio, Tasha Wessell, Phillip Brady and was a proud great-grandmother to Allea Gentry and had many nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and she consistently found ways to bring them together, creating a warm and loving home filled with fond memories.

Imogene was a spirited individual who had a passion for crochet, delighting in the art of crafting beautiful pieces that brought joy to those around her. She also had a love for travel and enjoyed many adventures throughout her life. Many fond memories were made at the J & J Dairy Bar and Diner, where she found happiness with family and friends.

A hard worker, Imogene was employed at Ethicon and Senco, where her diligent spirit and commitment earned her respect and admiration from her colleagues. She was known for her kindness and dedication.

Imogene’s life was a tapestry of love and connection, weaving together the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered not only for her strong work ethic but also for her compassionate heart and her ability to make everyone feel special.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Jesse Colyer, and her grandson, Thomas Gentry.

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew Imogene to come together to celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she instilled in each of us. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all she touched.

A celebration of Imogene’s life will be held, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable journey on February 15, 2025, at the Fraternal order of Eagles located at 600 Mt. Orab Pike, Georgetown Ohio, 45121 starting at 2pm. Rest in peace, dear Imogene. You will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
