It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Alice Rae Arnold, a loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, who left this world on December 14, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on November 25, 1935, in Toledo, OH, Alice spent her life in the vibrant city of Cincinnati, OH, surrounded by the laughter and love of her family.
Alice dedicated 25 plus years to US Shoe Corporation and 10 years of her professional life to customer service at Cintas, where her kindness and good heart shone through in every interaction. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was curling up with a good book, solving crossword puzzles, or whipping up her famous spaghetti and meatballs for family gatherings. Her cooking skills were legendary, warming the hearts and bellies of all who sat at her table.
Alice’s spirit was equally nourished by her faith, as she was actively involved in her church’s ministry and loved to spend time with her beloved ladies’ group, “Forever Young.” Her warmth and compassion radiated through every volunteer effort and gathering, leaving an enduring impact on her community.
Affectionately known as “Mom” and “Nana,” Alice cherished her family more than anything else. She is survived by her devoted children: Anita Folkers, Valerie Arnold, and Eric Arnold, as well as her beloved grandchildren: Joshua Arnold, Jacob Arnold, Andrew Arnold, Keith Lowry, Jennifer Durkin, and Kaitlyn Boschetto, as well as 11 great grandchildren. Alice often reminisced about the special family vacation they had in Hawaii in 1982, where moments of joy and laughter were plentiful.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Goldie Piranio, and her beloved husband, Clayton Arnold.
Alice had been married for 60 beautiful years to her beloved Clayton, who was always at her side. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. She enjoyed her passion for music, particularly the timeless tunes of Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones. She adored her doggie Rosie, adding another layer of love to her life.
Alice’s gentle presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A Celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Northwest Community Church, 8735 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251.
In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to a charity that supports women’s ministries, reflecting Alice’s compassionate spirit and commitment to helping others.
