A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Alma Lue Durst, went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on October 9, 2025 at the age of 82 years surrounded by her loving family. Alma was born on June 27, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Macel Bragg, her guardians William Dorsel and Pearl Durst, her loving husband William Glen Durst, Jr., siblings Dorothy Souche, Bess Bonfield, Richard Bragg, Charlotte Bragg and dear friend, Doug Batt. Alma was a graduate of DuPont High School in Charleston, West Virginia, class of 1961.
She is survived by her brother William (Judy) Durst. Alma was blessed with three wonderful children: daughter Glenda (David) Shoemaker, son David (Jill) Durst, daughter Deanna Osborne. She adored her grandchildren: Brittany (TJ), Tony (Jessica), Zachary (Stephanie), Chelsea (Timothy), Kaitlin, Austin (Bryanna), Rachel, Jacob, Levi, Mathew, Dylan, Madison, Braxton, Noah and Henry. Great grandchildren are Kylie, Ava, Lily, Bryan, Penelope, Tatum, Moira-Jack, Asher, and Maxine.
Other dear family includes Eric Kaminsky who she loved like a son, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in law and sisters-in law, and a loving church family who have been so supportive over the years.
Alma could often be found tending to her garden, expressing her deep appreciation for the past by spending afternoons antique shopping, uncovering hidden treasures and pieces with stories to tell and being a devoted member of the Tree of Life Church. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy blooms in every garden she planted, every heart she touched, and her unwavering faith in God.

“Our prayers and deepest sympathy for your loss. We were able to visit Alma just a few days before her passing. Although she smiled at some of the memories we shared we could tell that she was tired and ready to go to her eternal home. Dave & Gail Duvall”
