Obituary via Frederick Funeral Home

It is with both heavy hearts and joyful spirits that we celebrate the remarkable life of Andrew Golac, who passed away on January 25, 2025, surrounded by love in Florida. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Andrew lived a fulfilling life characterized by his unwavering faith, love for family, and passion for music and sports.

Andrew was a devoted father and cherished father-in-law to his beloved children: Paula (Michael) Kirkwood, Andrea (Erin) Golac, Andrew C. (Donna) Golac, Julie (Jim) Shannon, and Diane (Tom) Pitely. He also leaves behind a beloved stepdaughter, Cindy (Tom) Haines, and a special nephew and son figure, Mike (Joyce) Avery. He was Godfather to Zachary Haines. Andrew was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter for generations to come.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Darla, and cherished partner, Ruth Sparrow, Andrew is now reunited with his late sisters, Adele Pulick and Marian Wade. Throughout his life, Andrew was guided by his strong faith in the Lord, which was a cornerstone of his existence.

A true music enthusiast and lifelong sports fan, Andrew filled his days with the rhythms of dance and his heart with the cheers of the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings. He approached every moment with a zest for life that inspired all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to honor Andrew’s memory with a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 10, 2025, at 11:30 AM. This gathering will not only be a time for reflection but a celebratory tribute to a man who loved fiercely and lived fully. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Andrew’s memory, allowing his spirit of generosity to live on. Let us rejoice in the incredible life of Andrew Golac and the profound impact he made on all of us. Special condolences may be expressed at frederickfh.com
