Artemia Henderson, 96 of Eastgate, Ohio went to her Heavenly home January 27, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Bertha (nee Letner) Smith. She is preceded in death by her late husband Harold Henderson, son Jerry Henderson, grandson Charles Gibson, 3 infant siblings, 7 sisters; Gertie Belle (Sigle) Phillips, Magglene, Arrean (Melton) VanHooser, Gladis (Alonzo) Hamby, Cora (Verlon) Caldwell, Jaunita, and Jossie (Billy) Boshea. 2 brothers; Mitchel (Ravena) Smith, and Lawrence (Helen) Smith.

She is survived by her daughter Sue (Timothy) Hammons and son Tim (Trina) Henderson.

She was a loving Grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren . She was also a loving aunt and great-aunt to many.

She loved her Lord and Savior with all her heart and was a dedicated member of Crosspointe Baptist Church for decades. Her church was her foundation. Family was her greatest joy; she loved spending time with those she cherished, whether gathering at home or out sharing a meal together. Going out to eat was her favorite simple pleasure. Her life was a testament to endurance, faith, and love. The steady kind that carries families through generations. She is defined by her resilience, gentleness, and unwavering devotion. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility and strength that will continue to guide all who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Artemia’s life Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 10 am until 11 am service at Moore Family Funeral Home 6708 Main St. Newtown, Ohio 45244.
