Barbara Fite-Bronnert

august 4, 1959 – january 15, 2025

Barbara Fite-Bronnert

It is with both profound sadness and deep gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Barbara Fite-Bronnert, a woman whose radiant warmth touched all who knew her. Barbara passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and cherished memories of her family.

Born on August 4, 1959, in Cincinnati, OH, Barbara was a vibrant and spirited woman whose belief in angels and the power of love guided her life. She found joy in life’s small treasures, from savoring chocolate to cherishing her favorite music to her love of Barbies. Barbara loved music with all her heart, a passion that spanned decades and included bands and artists like The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Stevie Nicks, Peter Frampton, and many others from the 1960s to the 2000s. She was a massive fan of music and would sing along and clap with joy whenever one of her favorite songs played on the radio or television. A particularly fond memory was the time she met Davy Jones of the band The Monkees, an artist she greatly admired.

Barbara’s love for life was evident in everything she did. She had a special fondness for her favorite TV shows, particularly those that brought joy and laughter into her life, especially comedy. Her love for humor was infectious, and she was always the first to laugh along with her favorite characters and shows.

Barbara was a dedicated and passionate professional who took great pride in her work as a Senior Credit Analyst in the media industry. She devoted over 40 years to her career, leaving an indelible mark at WXIX Channel 19, WCPO Channel 12, and The E.W. Scripps Company. Her fierce commitment to excellence and her ability to tackle challenges head-on earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Barbara’s friendships with her coworkers extended well beyond the workplace, bringing lasting joy and connection throughout her life. Her remarkable work ethic began early, as she started her working life as a waitress at the restaurant in the old Cincinnati Pogue’s mall, paving the way for her long and successful career.

Above all, Barbara was a devoted mother – lovingly dubbed “Super Mom” by her son Eric, who was the center of her world. Her son Eric was the greatest joy and pride of her life. She often expressed that he was her greatest accomplishment and the true hero of her story. Barbara’s love for Eric was unwavering, and unconditional, a bond that shaped and defined her life. She always stood by him, offering her steadfast support and love through every challenge and triumph. No matter the obstacles, she believed in him wholeheartedly, cheering him on with an unshakeable faith in his strength and character. Her love for Eric was the foundation of her life, and she cherished every moment they shared.  Barbara took great pride in creating lasting memories with her son, including their magical Disney Cruise and unforgettable trips to Disney World. One of the highlights of her life was taking Eric to New York City for Christmas, where they shared in the magic of the season together, and she made sure every experience was filled with love, laughter, and warmth.

She held a deep and abiding love for her sisters—Carolyn, Gail, and Cheryl—who shared countless cherished moments and an unbreakable bond that brought light to her life. Her beloved nephews, Nicholas and Matthew, were a source of immense pride and joy, and she celebrated every milestone and moment with them. Her loyal dogs, Higgins, Bailey, and Kobe (She lovingly nicknamed Kobe “Happy,” a reflection of the joy he brought to her), were more than pets; they were her devoted companions who filled her days with unconditional love, comfort, and happiness, always by her side through life’s journey.

Barbara left one final message for her friends and family that she wanted to share.

“To my son…my family…my loved ones…and my friends.  I will miss you all.  See you on the other side.”

Her life will be celebrated at a Celebration of Life service held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45231—follow the blue line upon entering). The Celebration of Life service will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service in the Garden of Psalm 23.

In honor of Barbara’s love for animals, donations may be made in her memory to

“I’m here to echo every single other person that worked with Barb. She was awesome. You wanted her on your team because she was patient, she looked out for you, she would drop everything to help whenever needed, and she kept you smiling. I feel extremely lucky to have known her and am going to immensely miss my friend.”

“Love you Mom. Always and forever. <3 Eric”

“I will miss Barb so much. We worked together, and even though we lived in different states and only communicated over Zoom, I considered her my friend. Just as everyone has said, her kindness knew no bounds. I will miss her joyful soul, her funny stories and her infectious laugh. I will miss you Barb! Rock on!”

“Barb was one of a kind with her vast knowledge and sharp wit. More importantly, her consistent concern for my 7-year-old niece who has been battling cancer, touched my heart more than she will ever know. She often offered to buy her a present just to make her smile during her chemo treatments. That was who Barb was- caring and considerate. You will be missed more than words can say. I will see you again one day, my friend. In meantime, dance with the angels.”

“Barb was a kind soul. Always willing to help. I worked with Barb at Scripps and from day one made me feel welcome and part of her family. I remember at one point my car broke down and she offered her car to me. It touched my heart in more ways than one. She will be missed. My prayers are with the family. I surly wished heaven had visiting hours. I’ll miss you, my friend. Michelle Campbell”

“It was an honor and privilege to work with Barb. She will be missed and we greatly appreciated her friendship, hard work and dedication to the team. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.”

“I will continue to pray for the family. May god bless you all with comfort, love and peace in the upcoming days, months, and years. I worked with barb at Scripps. And whenever I had the opportunity to work closely with her on a account, we would meet via zoom. Barb’s welcoming Spirit to the challenge, always encouraged me during the entire meeting. We never had a boring encounter. She was always full of laughter and joy, even if the task was a great one. She made me feel like we can handle it. She taught me a lot, and I will miss her much. Glenn”
