Barbara Howell

Mrs. Barbara Jones Howell, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on September 19, 2023.

Barbara was born in Middletown, NY to John Jones and Edna DeMuth and was a graduate of Middletown High School. She was an avid pet lover and music lover, and enjoyed traveling with friends and family. She will be fondly remembered for her collection of “Howell’s Owls.” Barbara was known for her lasagna, icebox cake and cheeseburgers, and made and enjoyed a mean Manhattan without a cherry!

Barbara is survived by her children, John (Deborah) Howell, Cindy Howell Apro, and Karen Howell; grandchildren, John Charles (Wendy) Howell, Laura Beth (Steve) Scherra, Abbie Schradin; great-grandchildren, Alexander Poe, Autumn Howell, Maxwell Scherra, Jake Scherra, Drew Scherra and Justin Howell; and great-great-grandsons, Silas Poe and Macklen Poe, and many extended relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirlie LaPatta.
