Obituary via Frederick Funeral Home

Barbara Rae Falk, née Bloedorn, peacefully passed away on June 29, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 30, 1935, Barbara lived a life of unwavering faith, deep compassion, and selfless love. She was the devoted wife and best friend of the late Pastor Verner William “Bill” Falk, with whom she shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. Their life together was filled with partnership, purpose, music, ministry, and an enduring love that left an indelible mark on all who knew them. She was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Bloedorn and shared a special lifelong bond with her dear sister, Maryle (late Lonnie) Peterson. Barbara was the loving mother of four children: Marilyn Falk, Janet (William) Zerhusen, David (Rebecca) Falk, and Brenda (Michael) Weinhart. She was the proud grandmother of 13: Christina (Dwaine), Michelle (Rich), Jeanne (Paul), Jordan (Ashlee), Jennifer (Doug), Michael (Kelly), Jessica, Abigail, Margaret, Michael, Katie, Alexander, and Benjamin. The great grandmother of 8: Elizabeth, Zane, Brandon (Jessica), Sam, Dylan, Douglas, Dominic, and Corinne and great-great-grandmother of Ava. A woman of deep Christian faith, as a pastor’s wife, she selflessly gave of herself to her family, congregation, and community. Barbara was known for her gentle spirit and generous heart -always ready with words of encouragement, a comforting presence, and endless support. Her kindness touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten. She was also an accomplished violinist. She began her musical journey in school and, alongside her cellist husband, performed in numerous ensembles throughout their lives together, including many years with the Cincinnati Civic Orchestra, an artistic home that brought her great joy. Barbara was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was truly a bright light in the lives of all who knew her, as a source of strength, wisdom, and grace. She leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, faith, music, and service. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 5, at 8:30 AM at Hope Lutheran Church, 4695 Blue Rock Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Barbara’s honor to: The Cincinnati Civic Orchestra, Attention: Hildy Bonhaus, 780 Congress Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246 and Hope Lutheran Church, 4695 Blue Rock Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247.
