Betty J. Martineau

Jaunary 18, 1927- April 13, 2025

Betty J. Martineau

Betty J. Martineau (née) Back, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on January 18, 1927, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Betty lived a long and fulfilling life, defined by her love for her family and her dedication to caring for others.

A proud member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II, Betty’s commitment to service continued as a nurse at Jewish Hospital. Her compassion and skill touched countless lives, and her legacy in the healthcare community will not be forgotten.

Betty was not just a devoted nurse; she was also a vibrant individual who found joy in gardening, knitting, and cheering for her favorite sports teams. She cherished every moment spent with her family. She leaves behind her son Robert Martineau, daughter Linda Akers, and granddaughter Brittany (Carlo) Miraldi, grandsons Jeffrey (Stacey) Akers and Christopher (Allison) Akers as well as six great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by: Her loving husband Ralph Martineau, and her parents Harold and Helen Back. Her nurturing spirit and warm heart made her the cornerstone of her family’s gatherings, and her laughter will be dearly missed at family events.

Betty’s love of life and family extended to her role as a great-grandmother, where she embraced every opportunity to share stories and create memories with the younger generations. Her home was always welcoming, filled with warmth, laughter, and, of course, her beautiful gardens. She will always be remembered, and her love will live on in the stories we share.
