Billy B. Hensley

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Billy B. Hensley, a beloved husband, father, brother, papaw, great papaw, and friend, who left us on August 5, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 21, 1955, in Orlando, Kentucky, Billy spent much of his life in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was known for his generous spirit and his unwavering love for family.

Billy was a dedicated printer with S. Rosenthal, but his true passions extended far beyond his work. He was an avid fisherman, spending countless hours boat fishing for crappie at Weiss Lake in Sentry, Alabama, East Fork, and Caesar Creek. Those moments on the water brought him great joy, as did the time spent cooking his favorite holiday meals. Thanksgiving was especially close to his heart, and his specialties like goulash, meatloaf, Salisbury steak, and chili spaghetti delighted many.

For Billy, family was everything. He raised two sets of children who were not his biological children, displaying a love that knew no bounds. His legacy of kindness and help to others was exceptional and will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a man who would go the extra mile for his loved ones, and his laughter and warmth will be missed dearly.

Billy’s home was never complete without his furry companions. He cherished his pets Furby and Maddie, who preceded him in death, and found joy in the company of his grand fur babies, Benji and Nova, in his later years. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like sharing a meal at Golden Corral or catching a good movie.

Billy leaves behind a loving family, including his son Dwayne Hensley; his partner, Margie Hollins, his siblings Brenda Maxie, Bobby (Lisa) Hensley, JoAnn (Ronnie) Ebbing, Troy (Linda) Hensley, Jessie Hensley, Christy Hensley and Debbie (Harvey) Green; as well as cherished granddaughters Lindsey and Olivia (Juan Godinez) Lillard, and Tori Hensley, and great-grandchildren Mia Figueroa, Jaoquin Godinez, Indica Horne. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Marie, Joyce, Terry, and Kitty Hensley.

Visitation will be held at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 12:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM. Billy will be laid to rest in the Garden of Beatitudes, where his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved.

Though Billy may have departed from our sight, his love and memory will live on in the countless lives he touched. Let us come together to celebrate the remarkable life of this good man whose heart knew no limits.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Kathleen Hensley, his wife Kathy Hensley, his siblings, Delores, Calvin, Don, and Denver Hensley, his children, Tammy and Adam Hensley, and his brother-in-law, Eddie Maxie.

“To my sweet Uncle Billy, I love you so much and will miss you more than I could ever put into words. I’m so thankful that I was blessed to be your niece and for all the hugs and kisses you gave me in my life. I’d run out the door as fast as I could when you’d come and visit us when I was kid, just so I could meet you in the driveway. You never missed an opportunity to spread the love that you had for everyone. So thankful you’re not in pain from your battle with cancer anymore but I sure am going to miss you ❤️”
