Obituary via Mueller Funeral Home

Carl B. Wright, a respected business leader and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, in Mason, Ohio, at the age of 85. Born on April 15, 1941, in Glendive, Montana, Carl’s early life was shaped by the wide plains of Montana and a childhood spent in Wolf Point, near a Native American Reservation.

Carl was the beloved son of Morris L. Wright and Dorothy Elva (nee Boyden) Wright. With strong family values at his core, Carl’s role as a family man was always evident. He always listened and encouraged his family with his kindness and thoughtful advice. He loved the opportunity to share ideas and provide his wisdom anytime he was asked and relished celebrating life’s victories. Even throughout his 4+ months of illness, he maintained his wicked sense of humor to the end.

An exemplary student, Carl attended Dartmouth College on a scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Mathematics. This foundation led him to a distinguished career as a senior executive in the life and health insurance industries. After a 45-year career with various companies, he retired from Humana. His dedication to his profession, his honesty and integrity, and meticulous attention to detail made him an indispensable asset and a mentor to many in the field.

Carl also served his country with distinction during the Vietnam era, working in military intelligence for the United States Army in Washington, D.C. His commitment to service and country was matched only by his dedication to his loved ones.

He was an avid reader about the creation of our nation and our founding fathers, and he enjoyed country music, the thrill of NASCAR races, and regular golf games. Carl attended his grandchildren’s school and sports events enthusiastically, always taking immense pride and joy in their accomplishments. Family and friends knew him for his love of dark chocolate—insisting it must be dark—and for maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.

Carl is survived by his devoted wife, Cyndia E. Wright, who stood by his side throughout his remarkable journey. He is lovingly remembered by his children Dennis (Debbie) Wright, Jill (Brian) Kandell, Elizabeth Jones, Christopher (Elizabeth) Wright, Stephen Wright, and David (Katie) Wright and his step-children, Laura (Jared) Docter and Christa (Nash Nath) Schinner, along with seventeen grandchildren: Lauren, Jake, Madison, Ben, Drew, Charlotte, Lydia, Isaiah, Ethan, Noah, Hannah, Caleb, Drake, Indy, Iris, Scarlett, and Aiden, who were a constant source of pride and delight. Dear brother of Jan Sexton and a loving family member and friend to many.

Carl was preceded in death by: his parents, Morris and Dorothy Wright; his son, Dean Wright, whose memory remained close to his heart; and a brother, Bob Wright.

Friends and family are invited to honor Carl’s life at the Visitation on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Rd, Mason, OH 45040. The Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.

Carl B. Wright’s legacy is one of professional accomplishment, personal integrity, and unwavering commitment to his family. His wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
