Carol Hoevenaar, aged 79, of Mount Healthy, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 27, 1945, to Carl and Bertha Schuman (née Naderman).

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Carl Schuman, and her mother, Bertha Schuman. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 52 years, Mark S. Hoevenaar, her daughter Heather (Matthew) Hoevenaar Lanier, and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A creative spirit, Carol found joy in artistic pursuits, gardening, and cooking. She had a unique way of expressing herself through various forms of art, and she loved to engage in crossword puzzles and immerse herself in mystery novels. Carol cherished her time spent at the cabin, where her optimistic attitude shone brightly.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 3, 2025, with a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions – West Side Chapel, located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In honor of Carol’s memory, friends are invited to share their thoughts and special messages for the family in the guestbook below.
