October 31, 1947 – November 27, 2025

Celia Baker

Celia Baker, 78, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in her home. Born on October 31, 1947, in Valdeolivas, Spain, she was the beloved daughter of Benjamin and Benita (Gonzalez) Morillas.

Celia began her career as a teacher in Spain, a role that reflected her natural warmth, patience, and love of people. After moving to the United States, she spent thirty-five years as a cherished Hostess at the Olive Garden, where her radiant smile and unforgettable laughter welcomed countless guests. She was the life of the party and had a smile that could light up the darkest room.  She had a love for cooking, gardening, singing and dancing.

Celia leaves behind her devoted husband, Gary Baker; her daughter, Yoli Baker; her grandson, Anthony Cotton; her sisters, Mary and Nuria; and twin great-grandsons soon to be born. She also leaves her beloved great-grand-dog, Miloh, who rarely left her side and brought her daily comfort and happiness.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Yolanda.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Celia’s life on Saturday, December 6, 2025. A gathering will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM with Deacon Larry Day officiating. Burial will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens.  Following the graveside the family would like to invite everyone to join them at Big Buls Roadhouse, 2461 Ross-Millville Road to continue Celia’s celebration of life.

Celia’s life was full of warmth, kindness, and laughter—gifts she shared freely and leaves behind as her legacy. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.

“You will truly be missed Celia. I remember when I first started taking care of you, how you had to get used to me doing stuff for you that you use to do for yourself. It didn’t take long of us getting to know each other. It was a time I told you see you later while walking towards the door and you said alligator, it stocked me so much we both started laughing. I am so glad I was able to be there for you and Gary from the nursing home to your home, even when I left the company I was with, I was still coming to see you, Gary, your daughter and grandson. I am so grateful to be around your family and also being included as your family. Gone but never forgotten. Love you Celia.”

“She was very personable! When she hosted at The Olive Garden she made you feel like a guest in her home. The Olive Garden isn’t the same without her. My condolences to her family. She was a very special lady !”

“God bless you sweet lady. Rest in peace.”
