“Sad Jennifer. I can see him swimming in the lake many years ago. Hope you are well.”

“Very sad to hear of Charlie’s passing…I know that my parents, John (Tom) and Merle Oglesby and my Aunt, Dinnie Black have fond memories of him. Happy that he was a Forest Laker long ago and that his sister, Jennifer is still a part of our community. My heart goes out to Charlie’s sisters, the family and friends.”

“My deepest sympathy to the family. I am sorry for your loss. Charlie was President of the Troy High School Class of 1958. He was recognized as a leader, who was an excellent student, and a very nice person.”

“I first met Charles and Sarah in July 2018 at an Immigrant Dignity Coalition meeting in the basement of the Clifton Mosque. Immediately, I was awed and inspired by their knowledge of and empathy for the immigrant communities of greater Cincinnati. Although our friendship was limited to only 6+ years and the severity of Charles’ illness, I was graced with his kindness, intelligent contributions to difficult conversations, and clear eyed views on what is just in our troubled world. Thank you, Charles, for being a true servant to justice work and a guiding light for me and many others.”

“Charles was truly exemplary in learning more, sharing, helping others be their best, and caring for people as individuals. He also was a warrior for justice, along with Sarah. I shall miss him.”
