A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Colin John Hornsberger, 20, of Cincinnati, OH, who left us unexpectedly on January 9, 2026. Born on October 1, 2005, Colin illuminated the lives of so many with his infectious smile and vibrant spirit.
Colin was many things – fun loving, kindhearted, adventurous and deeply human. He graduated from Walnut Hills High School and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was camping with his friends looking for a new spot to climb or carving through the snow on the slopes while skiing and snowboarding. Colin embraced every moment with an enthusiasm that was truly infectious.
A devoted son and brother, Colin, was protective and supportive, cherished deeply by his siblings, Graham and Alice. His love extended to his grandparents, who meant the world to him, as well as to his many friends who felt the warmth of his generous heart. Colin’s life embodied the beautiful interplay of joy and struggle, reminding us that a meaningful life does not depend on its length but on the love and impact we share with others.
Colin is lovingly survived by his father Steven, mother Amy, siblings Graham and Alice, and his cherished grandparents, John McKinney and Jack and Pam Hornsberger. He is also survived by a close-knit family of aunts—Michelle Hartsock (Jeff) and Cathy Duncan (Tony)—cousins Riley Evans, Brad and Abby Stevens, and many friends who will forever hold his memory dear.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Anita McKinney, and uncle, Jason McKinney.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Colin’s life at a memorial service, which will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Before the service, there will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Let us come together to share stories, laughter, and love in honor of a truly extraordinary young man who touched our lives in so many ways.
Colin, you will be missed beyond words, but your spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
