A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Allen Wagner, aged 85, who left us on October 3, 2026, in Cincinnati, OH. Born on June 14, 1941, in Cincinnati, David lived a life filled with love, laughter, and the joys of family and friendship.
David worked as a machinist at Magna Tooling and Machine for many years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. Though his formal education ended after the eighth grade, he possessed a wealth of knowledge, especially about the things he loved—such as his cherished collection of guns. He also enjoyed the thrill of music and shared many unforgettable concert experiences with his brother-in-law, William Simpson.
A proud Army veteran, David carried the spirit of service throughout his life. He was devoted to his family, leaving behind his beloved sister, Marjorie Simpson, and her husband, William. He will be lovingly remembered by his niece Shannon (Tony) Toon, nephews William “BJ” (Julie) Simpson Jr., Robert Wagner, Rick “Fuzz” (Elizabeth) Gaefe, Joe “Mo” (Christine) Gaefe, countless other nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law Rick (Suzen) Gaefe, John (Rose) Gaefe, and Carl (Kathy) Gaefe.
David’s warmth and humor will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. To honor his memory, we will hold services at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, 45231 on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Visitation will begin at 8:00 am followed by a funeral service at 9:00 am. David will be laid to rest in the Garden of Patriotism where Military Honors will take place.
In celebrating David’s life, we invite friends and family to join us in remembering a man who cherished his loved ones and had a passion for life.
In our hearts, David will forever remain a dear brother, a devoted uncle, and a loyal friend. May he rest in peace.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carla Wagner, his parents, Andrew and Amy Wagner, and his siblings, Mary Jane Wagner, Barbara Wagner, Andrew Wagner Jr., and James Wagner.
