David Magly

Mihovk Rosenacker Funeral Home is assisting the Family

Obituary via Mihovk Rosenacker

David “Masher” Magly, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. He was the devoted son of Patricia (the late Russ) Reed and the late Jerry Magly. David leaves behind his beloved wife of twelve years, Kelly Magly (nee Brooks); his loving children: Megan and Bailey Magly; dear siblings: Eric (Sherri) Magly, Jennifer (Bryan) Gambrell, and Andrea (Jason) Sterwerf; cherished four-legged companion, Lucy; and numerous treasured nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

David had a love for sports, both playing and observing. In his younger years he played football at Colerain High School (a team he followed many years after graduation) and softball where he affectionately earned the nickname “Masher”. David was an accomplished bowler, with 300 games and an 824 series during his many seasons at Colerain Bowl. He was a devoted Tennessee fan, always rooting them on during March Madness with his friends each year. He also enjoyed watching golf on television and attending Nascar races. David loved to travel, including trips to Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach, and Las Vegas. While home, he enjoyed having fires in the fireplace and firepit, cooking, and spending time with his family. He excelled at socializing and never met a stranger; it seemed as though David knew someone everywhere he went. His outgoing personality and zest for life will be missed deeply by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

A visitation in his honor will be held Monday, June 5th from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd. (45247). Funeral Service will follow on Tuesday, June 6th at 10:30am, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David’s name to Cincinnati Animal CARE (click here to contribute)
