A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Robert Bowman, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on July 8, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on April 1, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, David spent his life bringing joy and warmth to those around him, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
David will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Shirley, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of laughter, love, and adventure. Together, they found romance at Lakeridge Hall during a dance, and from that moment on, they built a beautiful life filled with shared passions and unforgettable experiences. He is also survived by his son, David Bowman, and his daughter, Tonya Hoffman, along with his brother, Art Bowman, and many adoring grandchildren: Crystal Giler, Kylee Hoffman, Logan Bowman, and Isabella Bowman, as well as his great-grandchild, Rose Edwards, and nieces Jennifer Williams and Krista Scholten.
David was a man of many interests. He found great joy in cycling, riding motorcycles, and exploring the great outdoors, whether it was skiing or whitewater rafting. An adventure seeker at heart, he loved visiting the Smoky Mountains and enjoyed attending local festivals, particularly the vibrant German Festival.
An excellent cook, David took pride in making his famous goulash, which brought family and friends together around the dinner table. He had a special fondness for watching classic cowboy movies, especially those featuring Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, and he brought a playful spirit to family gatherings where laughter was always in the air. One memorable event was the lively “Dallas” gathering, which showcased David’s knack for fun and family bonding.
David dedicated his career as a truck driver with McCluskey Chevrolet, serving others with a genuine heart. His kindness and infectious smile left an impression on everyone he met, ensuring he will be missed dearly by family and friends alike.
In memory of David, let us keep his spirit alive by sharing stories, laughing, and embracing the love he instilled in us all. Rest in peace, dear David. Your legacy of kindness and joy will continue to inspire us every day.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Bowman, and his son-in-law Mark Hoffman.
