David S. Thiem

August 23, 1963 – May 27, 2025

David S. Thiem

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Steven Thiem, age 61, who left us peacefully on May 27, 2025, in his beloved Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 23, 1963, David was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, whose vibrant spirit touched everyone he met.

David was a dedicated storekeeper in the transportation industry at Sorta, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand.

He loved spending time with his large family, including his sisters Teresa (Wayne) Jacobs Yvonne (Mark) Hester, Mary Gulleman, and Jennifer Meyer, as well as his brothers Thomas (Debby Manning) Thiem, Robert (Debi) Thiem, and Richard (Yuriko) Thiem. David was a peacemaker and a source of laughter, always armed with a joke that could brighten anyone’s day.

His nieces and nephews especially adored him; they shared countless adventures together at the Airforce Museum, toy stores, and shopping trips. David’s generosity and genuine interest in their lives made him a beloved figure, and he will be missed dearly.

An avid sports fan, David cheered passionately for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He found joy in his hobbies, which included building models, exploring military history, collecting nostalgic toys, and enjoying the thrill of NASCAR races. He was an avid fan of Chuck Norris. His love for music, particularly the Beatles, often filled his home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

David’s funeral services will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, with a ceremony to celebrate his life and the meaningful moments he shared with all of us. Following the service, David will be laid to rest. We will always remember his kindness, laughter, and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, The Airforce Museum foundation and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Rest in peace, dear David. Your light will shine on in our hearts forever.

David was preceded in death by: By his parents: Margaret and Thomas F. Thiem, brother-in-law, Wayne Jacobs, Sister-in-law, Jane O’Malley-Thiem, Nephews, Joseph Thiem and Isaac Hester.
