A DEATH
HAS OCCURRED
Delores Ware was born on May 18, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John Howard and Willa Mae Howard. She peacefully departed this life on February 16, 2026, at Brooklyn’s Kings County Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Delores was the second of seven children. She graduated from Robert A. Taft High School in Cincinnati in 1959. At an early age, she became an active and faithful member of Jerriel Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. A.L. Goodwin. Her faith remained a constant source of strength and guidance throughout her life. During her younger years in Cincinnati, Delores developed a deep love for music. She and her siblings and friends often attended dances at St. Joseph Church. She also enjoyed skating and going to the movies.
Delores married Roosevelt Ware, and in 1960 they welcomed their son, Bryant. The family briefly relocated to California before eventually settling in Brooklyn, New York. Delores built a long and dedicated career with the New York City Transit Authority, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2004. She and Roosevelt later welcomed two additional children, Tyler and Taylor Ware.
Following her retirement, Delores devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. She remained actively involved in her children’s school and participated in parent-teacher associations. For many years, she also took personal responsibility for organizing family reunions, bringing relatives together and strengthening family bonds. Delores found great joy in spending time with her loved ones and helping them in any way she could.
Delores leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Roosevelt Ware; her children, Bryant Ware, Tyler Ware, and Taylor Ware; and her grandchildren, Chanell Ware and Andre Ware. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwendolyn Howard, Diann Hill, and Alice Hill; and her brother, Tyrone Hill.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Beautee Kate Ranford, Brenda Thompson, Alphonso Howard, Rayshon Howard, and Jerome Hill.
Delores also leaves behind a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
