“In the 45 years I worked in this field, I never met anyone more committed to her clients than Denice. They were never “cases” to her. She was a staunch advocate and only wanted the best for each of them. As her supervisor, I never had to motivate her to try harder and instead had to be cautious she didn’t overdo. Her heart was huge and she touched so many lives. And I agree with Katie, she made me laugh every day.”

“I always called her “Niecey”. She was always my big sister. She was the definition of perseverance. Best female athlete I knew growing up. She was Moms best friend. Never had a problem telling you what she thought. She loved Coca Cola. I did a job in Kentucky once and found an original case of coke nickel bottles in yellow and red , and immediately knew that I wanted to give them to Niecey. She was surprised and excited to receive them. I miss my sister.”

“Thankful for the countless hours Denice spent teaching, encouraging, and believing in so many young athletes. I was fortunate to know Denice not only as my youth softball coach, but also as a longtime family friend. Her toughness, patience, and dedication left a lasting impact on my life and the lives of so many others. We were always a good team!! Prayers and deepest condolences for the family, Wray Jean Connor”
