Dennis E. Powell

Dennis Powell, age 80, passed away on December 27, 2022. Dennis fought his battle against pancreatic cancer for the last two months of his life. Throughout this short journey he never lost his faith and faced everything head on. He also had a great sense of humor and the ability to make others smile. He will be greatly missed.

Dennis was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Luther Powell and Francis Powell-Heverly. Dennis married Rebecca Powell on September 22, 1979.

Dennis is survived by his wife Rebecca Powell. Children; David Erich Powell, Lauren Ann Wadds, Jennifer Lynn Powell, and Erica Elizabeth (Kevin) Mills. Grandchildren; Cameron, Alaina, Meredith, Jack, Andy, Nicholas, Emily, Katie, and Libby. Siblings; Marvin (Joni) Powell, Cheryl McEleney, Ellen DelMastero, and George (Colleen) Heverly. Also survived by many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his birth parents Francis Heverly and Luther Powell and foster parents Oma and Charlie Klotter. Siblings; Gail Hiland and Carol Denis.

Dennis along with his Aunt Oma and Uncle Charlie moved to Greenhills in 1942. Growing up he attended Our Lady of the Rosary elementary and then Greenhills Middle and High School where he was active in track and basketball. Dennis was a person who loved life and enjoyed many things. He was a man of passion and did everything to the best of his ability. He loved to travel and one of his favorite vacation spots was Siesta Key, Florida. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and he loved the outdoors.

Dennis loved the Lord and loved His Word. He was always wanting to learn more of the Bible. He was a member of Christ Covenant Church where had served as a deacon and he had sung in the choir.

Services will be held by the family.
