In Loving Memory of Donald Louis Hoffmann

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Louis Hoffmann, loving husband, father, and esteemed engineer, on September 26, 2023, at the age of 87. Born on November 27, 1935, in Cincinnati, OH, Donald’s life was one filled with passion, determination, and a love for his family.

Donald dedicated his career to the field of engineering, and worked at Formica for many years. His expertise and commitment were respected and admired by his colleagues throughout his distinguished career.

Outside of work, Donald embraced life’s simple pleasures. He was a lover of music, especially Dixieland Jazz and big band tunes. Whether tapping his foot to live performances or simply enjoying melodious compositions, music was always a source of joy for him. Donald cherished spending time with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

One of Donald’s greatest passions was being around water. Whether it was casting a fishing line or cruising on a boat at Lake James.

During his leisure time, Donald’s creative spirit took flight through his love for model trains and RC planes. Collecting and constructing these miniature marvels brought him immense satisfaction and joy. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident in every piece he created, and his collection was a testament to his dedication and passion.

“I’m not sure if I ever met Mr. Hoffmann, but his name was one I heard so often growing up since my dad, Tom Schneider, enjoyed working with him at Formica all those years ago. Heaven has a couple engineers up there reuniting…Dad passed away May 30th. Blessings of God’s peace to your family from the Schneider family as we send our deepest sympathies.”

“To Cheryl and Joe, Allison and Rachel, Jane, Karen and all others mourning, my sincerest sympathy. I’m sorry I can’t be there for Don’s funeral.
